Cost of Laser Hair Removal

25 August, 2009 (05:23) | Laser Hair Removal | By: Veronique

When looking at the cost of laser hair removal always ask yourself what is included.

You can get more information on the average cost at Laser Hair Removal Prices, however you will find that clinics often use a different basis for their pricing so it may be difficult to compare costs across the various treatment options you have locally.

When comparing one clinic’s laser hair removal prices with another consider whether the following are included or not and be sure to add the cost of everything up before making your final decision (although this should not be based on price alone).

  1. Initial consultation and information provided. This is often free or included in the treatment price.
  2. Length and number of sessions included in your treatment package. If the treatment is priced on a per session basis, get an estimate of the number of sessions which will be needed in your case and compare this with the number being offered in a package with other clinics
  3. Exact area of the body to be treated. Does the back include the shoulders, for example? Whole leg or half leg?
  4. Any pain relief medication or after care lotions and products included or do you have to buy these separately? What do they recommend and how much do they cost?
  5. Are the results guaranteed? Or do you have to pay for follow up sessions if the hair is not removed? What is the cost of these sessions?
  6. If you require medical help to deal with any (rare) side effects, is this included in the treatment price?
  7. Are there any payment plans which help spread the cost of laser treatment? What are the additional costs for these?

As you can see there are a few factors which could influence the cost of laser hair removal considerably and even make it beyond your budget so make sure you get all the information you need from the laser clinics you are considering before signing up for a course of treatment.

How to Reduce Laser Hair Removal Costs

5 January, 2010 (06:10) | Laser Hair Removal | By: Veronique

Laser Hair removal costs are prohibitive for many. There’s no doubt about it. So if you have an unwanted hair problem that would respond well to laser treatment but you only have a limited budget it makes sense to look into reducing the cost of laser hair removal in any way you can. But there are some ways that are sensible and others that you need to be aware of because an affordable laser hair removal treatment is not aways the same as a good one – and cheap laser treatment may cost you more in the long run in both money and peace of mind.

Before you even think about the cost for laser hair removal visit a few clinics to get a feel for the standards of care and facilities you might expect to receive when you have treatment. Collect information about their pricing but don’t be swayed by any special offers or deals. They will pressure you to sign up there and then but don’t be pushed into signing up for anything until you are ready. If you think you might not be able to resist, visit clinics out of town that will not be convenient for you to use on an ongoing basis. You will still get a feel for what you are looking for in a clinic and an idea of the average cost of laser hair removal that you can use as a comparison for other clinics in the future. If this seems like too much work and effort, at least phone to get details and prices from clinics in your area and then visit the three that you think offer the best value.

Because the costs of laser hair removal are so high some clinics are liable to hide some of their charges even if it is just to avoid mentioning that you might have to pay extra for items such as cooling gel so always ask what is included and inquire about any additional services or items you might need so that you can assess the full cost at each clinic. Check that the clinic is using the latest technology and that it is suitable for your skin and hair type. Ask whether there is a guarantee too if the treatment does not work as well as expected.

What you are trying to do is not to find the cheapest laser hair removal cost but the best value. So make your choice based on which clinic will offer you the best combination of both service and price. What is far from cheap is to be treated in a clinic which has out of date equipment and which charges you a relatively low price for treatment which does not work for you.

Laser Clinic : Good or Bad?

21 July, 2010 (08:11) | Laser Hair Removal | By: Veronique

If you are weighing up whether to use a particular laser clinic or you are trying to decide between one particular hair removal treatment center and another, you need to know which criteria to use to judge the particular clinic or clinics you are looking at. Here are the good and bad signs I would look for in making my mind up.

Bad Signs for a Laser Hair Removal Clinic

  • The clinic puts you through a slick selling process without giving you time to consider your options
  • The consultant does not explain exactly what you can expect before, during and after treatment.
  • There is no mention of pain levels or the pain relief options to combat them.
  • They do not explain how your skin and hair color might influence the success of the treatment (Be especially wary if you have dark skin or fair, red or gray hair, and this is not discussed.
  • You are not told the exact cost of laser hair removal sessions or the likely price of a full course of treatment.
  • There is too much emphasis on getting you to sign up for a payment plan if the treatment is not affordable.
  • Cheap laser hair removal advertised by the clinic suddenly becomes expensive when all the extras are included.
  • There is no guarantee offered so that you could end up spending thousands and being no better off.
  • Any signs that the laser clinic is in need of maintenance or that any aspect of hygiene is lacking should make you think twice. Peeling paint may not affect your treatment but it is a sign of sloppiness you are best to avoid.

Good Signs

Of course, you can just look for the opposite of the bad signs, but here are a few more things to look out for.

  • The clinic uses state of the art laser hair removal equipment and they explain why the particular equipment is best for your skin and hair.
  • You feel at ease with the consultant and not under any pressure to sign up for a course of laser hair treatment. You have all the time you need to make your decision.
  • After you have seen the consultant you are fairly confident you know what you will experience and the type of results you might get (best and worst scenario).
  • You are clear about laser treatment prices and any payment plans offered have a sensible rate of interest.
  • You are happy with the appointment times and the ease of getting to the clinic.
  • You have a good feeling in your gut about the place. Sometimes instinct is the best way to judge, all things being equal.
