I just heard that Superdrug are going to be opening bikini waxing bars around the UK this summer – somehow I don’t think they will be as popular as the nail bars which have sprung up like mushrooms in a damp field.
For one thing they would have to be pretty private before anyone will be ready to strip off – something you don’t usually associate with a bar – it’s definitely not like getting your nails done at Harvey Nicks with a few girl pals and champagne on ice – and for another they had better be pretty sound-proofed lest the yelps of pain put off potential customers.

Update 2009 : I though I’d check up to see if the bikini waxing bars had taken off. I mean I couldn’t really believe this would be successful and I have never seen one in the local Superdrug stores. A Google search didn’t throw up much other than this post so I guess bikini waxing on the high street is not going to happen (in the UK at least) – and thank goodness for that. I don’t want to hear howls of pain when I go to buy soap and deodorant
